Moretti (1957), no. 280, 292
Comment: The scholia mentions the victory took place either at the 80th or 81st Olympiad (= 460 or 456 BC). Moretti 1957, no. 280 regards the second more likely. Lines 5-7 of Pindar's 5th Olympic ode seem to suggest that Psaumis also participated in the contests of keles and tethrippon. Psaumis also won another Olympic victory in tethrippon at the 82nd Olympiad =452 BC). In P. OXy 222, his name is given as Samios. But according to Moretti 1957, no. 292, this is merely a different form of the name Psaumis.
