Comment: In I.Magnesia 180 it is said of this iteration of the Panathenaia that they were 'ta prota dothenta eiselastika hypo theou Hadrianou'. The Panathenaia offer some problems dating-wise, since from this point the order of contests in I.Magnesia 180 and 181 starts to differ; Farrington (2012), 144 note 467 offers interpretations of the order of both inscriptions, including one that distinguishes between penteteric and trieteric events (Ebert (1972), no. 235)), but ultimately rests on dating his Panathenaian victory to July 119 A.D. The discipline is not made explicit, but due to chronology and the fact that I.Magnesia 180 later switches to another age category (viz. 'ageneioi') it is assumed his victory is still in 'pankration - paides' (I.Magnesia 181 also calls Aristomachos the pankratiast) - PK
